As the Project Architect and BIM Manager for Parterre 42, I led the design team through the pre-design and schematic design phases, working closely with the project manager to develop the design, maintain design intent, and delegate tasks across the team. I was responsible for developing presentation drawings, schematic design sets, and coordinating with consultants—including structural, MEP, civil, and vertical transportation specialists—to ensure seamless integration. I also managed the BIM model, assisting team members with troubleshooting and implementing best practices for efficient 3D modeling and coordination. Additionally, I conducted zoning analysis, directed site research, and developed BOMA calculations to support leasing strategies for this commercial space.

Located in Miami’s vibrant Design District, Parterre 42 modernizes the workplace by seamlessly integrating lush green spaces with high-performance architecture. Inspired by the district’s evolution from a historic agricultural site to a global design hub, the project fosters well-being, innovation, and sustainability. Through a series of verdant terraces, a carefully articulated façade, and an emphasis on urban connectivity, Parterre 42 creates a new paradigm for workplace environments.

Rooted in Miami’s natural and cultural history, Parterre 42 draws inspiration from the city's vernacular architecture, particularly the simple lines and clean geometry characteristic of Miami Art Deco and Miami Modernism. The project’s massing and landscape strategy reflect the layering of the natural and built environments, creating a dynamic interplay between open-air gardens, shaded loggias, and expansive glass facades. The result is a workplace that harmonizes with its surroundings while offering a forward-thinking approach to urban development.

At street level, Parterre 42 establishes a strong connection with the surrounding Miami Design District through a carefully considered pedestrian experience. A generously landscaped arrival plaza and a network of shaded walkways create a welcoming transition between the bustling urban environment and the building’s interior. The integration of retail and public spaces enhances accessibility, while a prominent double-height lobby fosters a sense of openness and engagement with the neighborhood.

A defining feature of Parterre 42 is its cascading series of landscaped terraces that provide outdoor workspaces, relaxation areas, and ecological benefits. These green spaces improve air quality, reduce urban heat, and offer moments of respite for building occupants. The terraces, designed as an extension of the interior workspace, create a seamless indoor-outdoor experience while reinforcing the project’s commitment to sustainability.

The façade of Parterre 42 is a balance of performance-driven design and architectural elegance. A terracotta baguette rainscreen filters sunlight, reducing glare and enhancing thermal efficiency, while high-performance glazing maximizes natural light penetration. The material palette, inspired by Miami’s Art Deco and Modernist legacy, introduces a rhythmic texture that gives the building a distinctive presence within the district.
